1:1 Tutoring & Executive Function Coaching Testimonials

Listen to What Parents Have to Say

  • Our Executive Functioning Coach has worked with our two boys for several years. She has guided our rising sophomore through Middle School to High School and has been instrumental in teaching him the skills needed to become a more organized, successful and confident student who is now reaching his potential because of the supports and strategies she has taught him. She has also worked extensively with our middle school student who has a learning disability and struggles organizationally and academically. Her endless patience, good humor and skilled teaching strategies have been invaluable to his continued success.

  • “Thanks for all your help with our daughter’s ISEE test prep ….. we found out today that she was accepted at Hackley! All of your work with her helped her not only learn the material but approach the test with a greater sense of confidence. We are so happy to have found you, WhizKidz!”

    - Mom of a Middle Schooler-
  • “When I was putting my daughter to bed last night, she told me she wished it was Wednesday. When I asked her why, she said, “Because that is the day my tutor comes and I love it when she is here!”

    - Mom of a pre-schooler-
  • “My son just finished his College-Level Accounting class and it went very well! I’m certain he couldn’t have done it without his tutor, Christine, and the many hours he spent with her! I am so appreciative of her time and help. Thank you WhizKidz!”

    - Mom of a college-level student-
  • “You listen to all of my concerns and thoughts, then put me in touch with a great tutor for my son ….. I just wanted to share with you that today my son Michael took the ISEE. When I think of how we got here and our commitment to exploring private schools, my decision to call WhizKidz was instrumental in our journey. Michael can now rest assured that he gave the applications his best shot. He has also done better at math this year thanks to his tutor. Thank you so much. It’s been reassuring to know he was stretched, especially during this time.”

    - Mom of an 8th grader-
  • “Of all the silver linings of 2020, finding our WhizKidz tutor Kathleen was definitely # 1. At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted our 2nd grader to have access to more live teaching over Zoom. Kathleen from WK immediately connected with our son, assessed his strengths and weaknesses, and developed a curriculum for his interests and our goals. She is making sure our son progresses and received appropriate teacher attention during the pandemic. She reinforces concepts from his school while digging deeper and find more challenging applications for him, not only with academic material but also executive function and behavior habits to make our son a successful learner and student.”

    \
    - Mom of a 3rd Grader-

    - Pod Dad, 1st Grade-
  • “After a difficult Spring (2020) of remote learning and missed educational progress, it has been such a relief to see my daughters motivated and enthusiastic about learning …. It is heartening to know they are receiving additional in-person instruction and support on subjects that can only be briefly covered during their hybrid school hours.”

    \
  • “Our enrichment math pod meets every week, exploring everything from unit conversions to decimals and everything in between. The girls are pushed to explore math in a new and exciting way, working together as a team to solve problems. Math is my daughter’s favorite subject and she is eager to explore with her friends and their wonderful pod teacher each week!”

    \
    - Pod mom, 5th Grade-
  • “My daughter really enjoyed her first pod session. The tutor had many creative activities to engage her, which were also opportunities to gauge her current understanding. Math, science, and chocolate are an irritable combination!”

    \
    - Pod Dad, 5th Grade-

    \
    - Pod Mom, Preschool-
  • “Alex LOVED his math pod today. He came running home to show me his work and said it was really fun, and it “re-energized him after school.” That’s just what he needs right now. I appreciate that you kept your energy up for the boys, sen after YOUR full day at school! Thank you, thank you!”

    \
    - Pod Mom, 6th Grade-
  • “Our WK Pods debate coach is very knowledgeable and experienced. He is engaging and able to connect well with the elementary and middle school kids in our pod. He got the kids excited and interested in the subject of Debate! We observed wonderful progression in their skills. I highly recommend working with him! Thank you WK Pods!”

    \
    - Pod Mom, 6th & 7th Grade Pod-
  • “Our high school pod is flourishing in ELA due to their pod teacher. They meet weekly, working on both assignments from school and enrichment projects. Their writing and analysis skills have skyrocketed and school projects that were once a grind, are now enjoyed by all of the students!”

    \
    - Pod Dad, 10th Grade-
  • “Having a small pod for SAT prep has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. She is able to prepare for the exam with a small group of learners. There is a social component in prepping with other students, which takes the pressure off and allows for a more enjoyable experience. But- the pod is not as big as typical SAT classes so she gets more individualized attention. I high recommend SAT and ACT pods through WK Pods!”

    \
    - Pod Dad, 11th Grade-
  • “My son George was able to take the prep for his AP US History exam with a small pod of friends. The kids loved studying together with their pod teacher. It was easier to get George to study with a pod and saved money in comparison to 1:1 tutoring! Win-win!”

Speech & Language Testimonials

Listen to What Parents Have to Say

  • Our speech therapist has been working with our 6th grader for over a year. She has made a huge difference in his ability to communicate and understand non verbal cues and figurative language. Her lessons are tween appropriate and she engages him and makes their sessions fun and he often doesn’t realize that he’s working on language skills. She understands his needs perfectly based on his learning disability and is always available for feedback and helpful advice. She has been an invaluable support to him and his ability to communicate with his peers.

  • Our SLP is truly a gifted and magical speech therapist. She has the most positive & playful energy! My 3 year old son’s annunciation has improved greatly in the short amount of time he’s spent with his SLP. I’m positive his articulation will continue to improve. More importantly, my son is so excited to see her and fully enjoys every minute of his session. The SLP formed an instant bond with my son and gained his trust and admiration from the start. We are so grateful for her professional, patient, thorough and creative therapy. We are so thankful for WhizKidz’s expertise in hearing our needs and connecting us with the very best in the field.

And to top it off, it’s reassuring knowing that Whiz Kidz has done all the vetting for me! It’s been a super easy process and I know my kids are in great hands!

We knew she needed help right before the pandemic hit and were very weary of how virtual speech therapy would work. We couldn’t be more pleased. Our daughter’s articulation has drastically improved! The SLP has a wonderful manner with children and is able to connect with our daughter and engage her in a way that we never get a complaint about the sessions- only excitement for them!
