WhizKidz Tutoring provides top notch tutoring services for students of all ages.  We offer flexible tutoring assignments to meet demanding schedules and have rigorously vetted our tutors to ensure that clients have the best possible tutoring experiences.

WhizKidz tutors come from a variety of educational backgrounds.  Most are current teachers in New York and all have a Masters Degree to teach children. The tutors stress understanding concepts rather than memorizing facts and always focus on building confidence in their students to provide the highest level of success.  Clients will receive detailed backgrounds about their tutors at time of placement.

Erica is a former business woman who left the Executive Search industry to chase her passion in education.   She received her MSEd from Hunter College and taught elementary school and on Long Island.  Erica founded WhizKidz Tutoring with the intention of helping students of all ages gain confidence in themselves to successfully navigate and thrive in school.

She is a mother of three school aged children and can personally relate to the struggles that parents go through in educating their children.

Lauren is an early childhood and elementary educator. She received her MSEd from Adelphi University. Lauren has taught in Tribeca and Greenwich, CT, and Tarrytown. Before teaching, Lauren was a former businesswoman in human resources and the search/staff placement industry. She also served as Board President of the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Lauren has been a small group 1:1 tutor since 2020.

Lauren utilizes her experience in education and staff placement to assist students and families in the Rye, Harrison, and Greenwich, CT areas. She is also the mother of three children ranging from middle school through college and can personally relate to the need for academic support for children throughout all stages of growth.

Brittany is an educator who received her dual MSEd in Childhood and Special Education at Mercy College. In addition, she obtained a second MSEd in Literacy from Hunter College. Brittany worked as a Special Education and General Education teacher for 10 years in both NYC and Westchester schools. After starting a family, she has spent the past 7 years tutoring students through WhizKidz.

Brittany is the mother of two children, whom both began their experiences in preschool and Elementary school during the Covid-19 pandemic. She has seen first-hand, as a tutor and a parent, the value of building confidence and motivation through one-to-one or small group tutoring sessions. She hopes to help families in the Northern Westchester area experience these benefits by matching children of all ages with high-quality tutors who will meet each child’s unique needs.

Leah and Joe Silvestri are a married couple with two young children who understand the importance of individualized learning experiences. With a keen eye for talent, Leah and Joseph excel in recruiting and managing a team of highly qualified WhizKidz tutors on Long Island. They meticulously match tutors with students based on their learning styles, needs, and goals, ensuring the best possible outcomes.

Leah earned her degree in Childhood Education and Humanities from Dowling College. She worked in finance for many years before returning to the education realm with WhizKidz to fulfill her dream of working with families looking for support and enrichment for their children.

Joseph brings over 15 years of experience of sales coaching, financial planning, project management, & event coordination to WhizKidz, where he leverages his well-rounded skills to assist families and students find the best tutoring options for their unique learning needs.

Dana is a former elementary and preschool teacher with 17 years of early childhood experience. Since 2020, Dana has been working with WhizKidz as a highly valued 1:1 tutor and teaching small groups of students. She received her MSEd from Iona University and holds her NYS certification, Birth-6th Grade.

As an educator and a parent of high school and middle school-aged children, Dana recognizes the additional support students may need to assist and further their education. Her years of teaching experience, strong belief in small group and individualized instruction, and her experience as a parent aid her in bringing quality tutoring to New York City and the surrounding areas.

Jenn is an educator who was a high school counselor for the NYC Department of Education for 14 years. She received her MSEd in School Counseling from Hunter College and holds a permanent NY State school counseling certification K-12. Jenn worked with general and special education students and families and provided 1:1 and group counseling services. She specialized in both College Counseling and Executive Function support, working to help organize her students and teach them how to successfully self-advocate.

As a mom of two young children, Jenn is passionate about supporting WhizKidz families of all ages. She is aware of parents’ challenges when trying to support their children’s learning. Jenn is eager to pair New Jersey and Rockland County students with high-quality tutors to enhance their learning and confidence.
